Who is Michael?

Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a musical household and come from a long line of musicians. My father, grandfather, and great-uncles were guitarists & singers, as are my Siblings.
One of my earliest memories was holding a toy guitar at age 2. I remember the excitement I felt, holding the instrument. Christmas of 1995, I received my first real guitar & amp. Ironically, all the excitement left me when I realized I didn’t know how to play. That didn’t stop me from trying. At age 9, I sat down at the piano & began to play (literally). Mom thought it was my brother, but no, it was me. A year later at age 10, I started playing the keyboard & organ in church. It was during this time that I began playing saxophone in elementary school. I continued playing through high school, winning various awards along the way.
Unfortunately, I stopped playing the guitar during this time. Still, the desire to play was there. At age 16, I heard guitarist John “Jubu” Smith, and he changed my life. It was at this moment I decided to pick up the guitar again. I haven’t put it down since. I also realized what I wanted to do with my life, so I committed to honing my gift. At age 23, I got into music production when I produced my first album.
Today, I am a full-time musician, producer, and private lesson instructor. What keeps me going? The desire to reach the world through music, one note at a time.
